Child labor (The Victorian era) KATIA

It started with the use of steam-powered machines, which led to a massive increase in the number of factories who hired because there were cheaper and smaller, they could easily crawl under the machines and their fingers were use to perform precision tasks. Children were between 7 and 13 years old. Most of the children who worked in these conditions average died at the age of 25.

  1. It is a shame that children were forced to work at such young ages, but little but little, people understood that they need time to develop both physically and intellectually.

  2. If I have to talk about the children, I have to say they were an important role of the industry because some labours needed little hands for some jobs that the adults couldn’t do, also, to hire a child was cheaper than an adult.

Furthermore, in those days, the children had to work if they wanted to gain some money to buy food and help their family but the work conditions were awful in the factories because they had to work at least 16 hours.

Nowadays, I cannot assure that the child labour doesn’t exist in the world, because there are a lot of places where the children had to work. But the people are changing and protecting the children rights, taking care of them because the children had the right to enjoy the life, not to work.
